But while there are many amongst us who move on each day with just the cribbing, there are many out there who have moved beyond simply cribbing and complaining and have decided to take up matters in their own hands. This is an effort to share such details about various NGOs within India who are carrying out some amazing work and would benefit a lot with volunteers like you. Doesn't take up much of your time, just a little time over the weekend or if you can spare during the week, and you too can be a part of bringing about a positive change in someone's life. Activity: Bhumi is one of India's largest independent youth volunteer non-profit organisation. Bhumi's volunteers work amongst orphaned and underprivileged children in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Bengaluru and Chandigarh with the aim of providing them with quality education and enable them to become responsible and productive citizens of the future. The efforts of their volunteer force consisting of over 300 students and young professionals under the age of 30 benefits over 2,500 children every year.
Details: 1. Kanini Computer literacy programme involving teaching of basic and advanced concepts based on the children's aptitude levels.

Note: Bhumi is an under-30 youth volunteer organisation, and to be able to reach out to more children, they need volunteers who can spend at least 02 hours every weekend to teach at an orphanage near their residence.
