Losing Your 'I' in Identity

So when was the last time you were in a tiff over something that you felt was right on your part but didn't go down well with your partner? Or, when was the last time you wanted to do something real bad, but had to keep your heart and mind in check, time after time, just coz you knew your partner wouldn't like it much?

There comes a time in all relationships when we feel we've had enough. We sit and think of all that we did together, of all the good and the bad that we shared, and we can't help get upset about all those points that failed to keep the magic alive. Sometimes, it's easy to spot the beginning of a crack.....It's good then, we can start the repair work immediately. Sometimes, we only notice the crack once its reached its zenith and the relationship is hanging by that one last piece of connection..whatever it may be...in some cases, its a child, sometimes its financial dependency, some times it could be the hope that some day those lovely moments would come back again and all would be well, some times its just the scare of a social stigma that might force you to stick that smile on your face and carry on.

So, once the crack is out there in the open and you know that no matter what you might have shared and are still willing to share, it's still not enough for your partner, what do you do? Do you decide to erase all those smiles of the past and move ahead to try and make a few smiles of your own, or do you put up that smile day in day out and tell the world that it's still a happy place and that no matter what, you still are happy....

Any easy answers to this one?
