Thrissur archaelogical museum (Kerala-India)

Thrissur archaeological museum: the imposing building is home to a gallery of murals from all over kerala and preserves a rare treasure of Veerakallu (stone engravings and sculptures of figures and weapons belonging to heroes of the past), temple models, olagrandhangal (manuscripts on dry palm leaves), megaliths etc. Megalith collection includes earthern pots and earns.
Location: near thrissur zoo, 02 kms from Thrissur town, central Kerala
Timings: 10:0 am – 05:00 pm except Mondays and national holidays
How to reach: nearest rail station Thrissur; 58 kms from Kochi International Airport
Additional info: the temple models in the museum, cast in plaster of Paris, are an excellent representation of the ancient temples in the state.
